Damola Adewole is a contemporary visual representational artist based in Lagos, Nigeria. Chiefly working in acrylic on canvas, Damola creates striking, colour-filled scenes in which the individual captivates the eye. His practice creates an intimate dialogue between the artwork and viewer as we capture a glimpse of the narratives within. His enigmatic subjects offer an insight into diverse cultures, lifestyles and perspectives, and Damola’s work particularly draws inspiration from the black figures in his surroundings. 

Damola’s work features in several collections and recently his work was on display at one of the biggest TV shows in Africa (Big Brother Naija Season 6). Damola hails from a family of no art background. He graduated from Yaba College of Technology with a National Higher Diploma in Painting and was trained under Akinola Ebenezer who continues to serve as his inspiration.
